Paul J. Serino, whose life ran through Boston’s North End, Revere and East Boston, died peacefully on November 2, 2026. He was 83.

He was born in Boston on May 16, 1943. He spent his working years in restaurants and hospitality, at Spinelli’s Bakery in East Boston and with the Odyssey cruise line in Boston’s Seaport District.

His family remembers an outgoing man with a big personality whose stories about the North End held whatever room he was in. His pleasures were simple and consistent: a card game with friends, a day at the races, a classic movie, Italian food and a good cigar. The notice his family wrote opens with a line he would have liked, that life is measured not by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.

He leaves his son, Paul A. Serino; his grandchildren, Zachary, Alec and Sarah Serino; and his nephews, Steven, Edward and Joseph Serino. His former wife, Patricia, and his brother, Louis Serino, died before him.

Arrangements are by the Paul Buonfiglio and Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere, where the family invites friends to share memories and photographs on his memorial page.
