Ann (Pollard) Egan of Peabody died peacefully in Beverly on October 31, 2026, with her family around her. She was 95.

She was born in Lynn, the daughter of James and Kathleen (Furness) Pollard, and grew up and went to school there, graduating from St. Mary’s High School. She trained at the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing, became a registered nurse and began her career at Lynn Hospital. She left nursing for a time to raise her children and later went back to it as a psychiatric nurse at McLean Hospital in Belmont, where her family says she brought patience and a gentle manner to people in her care.

She never met a stranger. She played bridge, line danced, and in younger years she and her husband, William, were keen curlers who valued the friendships the sport brought them. She spent summers on Cape Cod and winters in Naples, Florida. Her family knew her as “Granny Annie,” and this year they gathered on the Cape to celebrate her 95th birthday.

Four children survive her: Cynthia Egan of Andover, married to David Drinon; William Egan Jr. of Boston, married to Ellen Curley; James Egan of Bethany, Connecticut, whose partner is Joanna Lia; and Thomas Egan of Randolph, Vermont, whose partner is Tracy Toler. She also leaves six grandchildren, James and Timothy Curley-Egan, Sarah Drinon Ballato, Sean, Robert and Liam Egan, along with their spouses Jodi, Renee and Kenneth, and five great-grandchildren: Rosalie, Henry and Liza Curley-Egan, Kenneth “Trip” Ballato III and Jameson Egan. Her husband, William M. Egan, died before her.

Services will be private, with burial at South Cemetery in Boxborough. Arrangements are by O’Donnell Cremations, Funerals, Celebrations, 167 Maple Street, Danvers.
