Salvador Vega died on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Salem Hospital with his family at his side. He was 80.

He was born September 29, 1946 in Miraflores, Puerto Rico, the son of Benito Vega and Fernanda Vega Colon, and moved to New York as a boy. After some years in New Jersey he settled in Massachusetts, where he lived the rest of his life. For many years he repaired jewelry, work that called for a steady hand and an eye for detail, and he was known for what he could make and mend.

His family came first. His siblings helped raise him and remained the people he was closest to, and his nieces and nephews knew him less as an uncle than as a brother. They remember his kindness and the care he gave freely to the people around him.

He leaves many nieces and nephews. His sisters Ana Irma Vega and Nereida Vega and his brother Rafael Vega died before him, as did his parents.

All services are private. Arrangements are by Solimine Funeral Homes, Broadway, Lynn.
