Arlene Burgoyne of Danvers died on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 with her family around her. She was 68.

She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (McElvanna) McCafferty. Her family describes a woman who built every decision around the people she loved and cheered for them louder than anyone, who traveled near and far, danced, lost herself in classic rock concerts, treated chocolate as a daily necessity, read constantly, hunted for the next show to watch with her gray and white tabby, Charlie, beside her, and kept everyone laughing with a sharp, sarcastic wit.

She leaves her children, Michael Burgoyne, Devon Milton and her husband Tyler, and Kathleen Burgoyne and her husband Anthony Martin; her sister, Trisha Henry and her husband Scott; her brothers, Thomas McCafferty and his wife Karen and Frank McCafferty and his wife Deborah; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, William Burgoyne, and her brother Brian McCafferty died before her.

A wake is Monday, November 2 from 4 to 6 p.m. at O’Donnell Cremations, Funerals and Celebrations, 167 Maple Street, Danvers. The family suggests donations to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
