Sheila M. (Nicholas) Caldwell of Malden, formerly of Cambridge, died on October 26, 2026. She was 80.
She was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Geneva (Jones) Nicholas. Before she retired she worked more than 20 years at Harvard University as an administrative assistant in the Mental Health Services department, where she took pride in helping students and staff and earned the respect of her colleagues. She valued simple things: quiet time with friends and family, especially one-on-one with her granddaughter Aliyah, and her shows, from the soaps and HGTV to “Say Yes to the Dress,” “Bridezillas” and Sunday football.
She leaves her son, Herbert Caldwell Jr. of Malden; her granddaughter, Aliyah Caldwell of Somerville; and many cousins and friends. Her daughter, Jeanine Caldwell, died before her.
Visiting hours are Friday, November 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service at Mount Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge. The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
