Harold “Heshie” Blass, who was born in Malden and lived to 105, died on October 29, 2026. He lived in Swampscott.

He was the son of Max and Lena Blass. He served in the Coast Guard during the Second World War and afterward worked for many years as an electrician. He was a founding member of the Malden post of the Disabled American Veterans and a past commander of Jewish War Veterans Post 74. His family remembers a gentleman with great patience who could build anything and fix anything and spent much of his long life helping other people.

A graveside service is Sunday, November 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everett. The family will receive visitors at the home of Mark and Elaine Blass from 1 to 5 p.m. afterward. Arrangements are by the Goldman Funeral Chapel, Malden. The family suggests donations to Care Dimensions.
