Frank L. Longo of Revere died on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. He was 91.
He was born in Boston, the son of Salvatore and Maria Theresa (Romano) Longo, and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Home again, he worked as a plasterer for the Tambone Company before joining the Medford Fire Department, where he spent 30 years as a firefighter.
He was a lifelong member of the Saint Rosalie Society and, at the end, its oldest. He kept two gardens, one at home and one at the firehouse, and raised more vegetables than any one family could eat; every fall he handed the surplus out to everyone he knew. His family came before all of it, and his grandchildren most of all.
He leaves his children Donna Zak and her husband Bobby, Frank S. Longo and his husband John Lever, Karen Walter and her husband Edward, and Richard Longo and his partner Jessica McCarville; his grandchildren Nicole, Michele and her husband Robel, Catrina, Meghan and her husband Andrew, Andrew, Andrea and Ricky; his great-granddaughter Ella; his brother Richard Longo and his wife Theresa; his sisters Rosalie Indelicato and Theresa Pulisciano; and many nieces and nephews. His siblings Joseph, Victoria, Vincenza Casali and Louis died before him.
Visiting hours are Monday, November 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, and again Tuesday, November 10 at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, and burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
