Christopher “Mr. Christmas” DiChiara, 50, of Melrose, Carpenter, Hairdresser and Father of Two

A contagious smile, a huge heart, a carpenter's hands that could also cut hair and draw freehand, and a love of Christmas big enough to earn a nickname. Christopher DiChiara of Melrose was 50.

Christopher Joseph DiChiara of Melrose died unexpectedly on October 17, 2026. He was 50.

He was born at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on August 7, 1976 to Ralph and Jo-Ann DiChiara, grew up in Medford, lived for a time in North Reading and had most recently made his home in Melrose. His family remembers a contagious smile, a big heart and a sharp sense of humor. He was a skilled carpenter and a hairdresser, could draw anything freehand and loved Christmas so much he called himself Mr. Christmas.

He leaves his daughters, Giavanna Lapusata DiChiara and Stella DiChiara, and his parents.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, October 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, North Shore Chapel, Peabody.
