Romeo Cipriano of Malden died on Monday, October 12, 2026. He was 91 and had been married 68 years to Rita (Santiano) Cipriano.
He was born and raised in East Boston, the son of the late Nicholas and Michelina (Trotta) Cipriano, and served in the Army during the Korean War, a pride he carried all his life. He and Rita traveled the Caribbean with family and friends and made several trips to Disney World with the children and grandchildren. For more than 25 years his mornings began with his pals at Dunkin’ Donuts, a coffee ritual that was really about friendship. Family was the center of everything, and he was happiest with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren around him.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Joseph Cipriano, and his wife Beth of Gloucester; his daughters, Michele Federico and her husband Gabe of Wakefield, and Paula Dusablon and her husband Paul of Peabody; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Cipriano, Justin Federico, Lauren Cipriano-Rivera, Jason Federico, Nicole Ryan, Leah Malian, Danielle Lewis and Christina Dusablon, and their spouses and partners; and nine great-grandchildren, Samuel, Nina, Mason, Mila, AJ, Roman, Max, Philip and Fiona. Four brothers and seven sisters died before him.
Visiting hours are Sunday, October 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Avenue, Saugus. A funeral is Monday, October 19 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 790 Salem Street, Malden, and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. The family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
