Patrick J. “Pat” Hickey of Lynn died on Friday, October 23, 2026 after a brief illness. He was 65.

He was born in Salem in 1960, the son of the late John P. “Jack” and Ruth M. (McDonald) Hickey. His family describes a man who never took the easy or expected road, who was always ready for the next adventure and whose wit and easy laugh were the things people remember first. Art lifted him, adventure stretched him and humor, he said, kept everyone grounded together.

He leaves his daughter, Caitlin E. Nistler, and her husband Aaron of Bemidji, Minn.; his grandchildren, Ruthie and Otis; his brother, Michael P. Hickey, and his wife Gail; his niece and nephews, Jessica Zinger, Mark Hickey and Michael J. Hickey; his fiancee, Darlene Nugent; his stepdaughters, Jessica Laursen and Jocelyn Perry, whom he helped raise with his former wife, Teresa Pesaturo; and many cousins. His sister, Cathy Ann Haneffant, died before him.

A celebration of life is Friday, November 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Gannon Municipal Golf Course, 60 Great Woods Road, Lynn. The family asks guests to wear a favorite band T-shirt, because, as he liked to say, rock and roll lives forever. Arrangements are by the Solimine Funeral Home, Lynn. Donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in his name.
