Marie A. (Sinkiewicz) Danieli of Somerville, formerly of South Boston, died on Thursday, October 22, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68. Her husband of 45 years, John J. Danieli, died in March.
She was born in Boston and raised in South Boston, the daughter of Anthony J. and Ann (Shyp) Sinkiewicz. For many years she was the executive corporate secretary at Winter Hill Bank on Broadway in Somerville, where colleagues counted on her to have the answer before the question. She gave her time to the Somerville Kiwanis Club and the Somerville Chamber of Commerce, planning and working community events, and at home fed anyone who came through the door. She crocheted and played word games in her quiet hours.
She leaves her children, Carolyn Danieli and John Danieli and his wife Sarah; her siblings, Kenneth Sinkiewicz and his wife MaryEllen, Beverly Sinkiewicz, Joann Adrian and her husband Tom, Joseph Sinkiewicz, Susan Cotnam and her husband Dale, and Paul Sinkiewicz and his partner Linda Manning; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway, Powder House Square, Somerville. The funeral procession leaves Friday, October 30 at 10 a.m. for an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
