Richard “Rick” Brangiforte of Lynnfield died peacefully on October 8, 2026 with his family around him. He was 83.
He was born and raised in East Boston, the son of the late Deebie “Ruth” and Philip Brangiforte, and served in the United States Air Force, which he counted among the proudest chapters of his life. He came home, married Patti, his wife of nearly 50 years, and built a career in real estate, owning and running Century Realty of Lynn for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Lynn. He met friends for lunch at the Wardhurst, cooked for the family on holidays, played cards, spent happy hours at the casino’s video poker machines and watched the Patriots and Red Sox.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Jay, and his wife Cindy; his daughter, Samantha, and her husband Matt; his grandson, Michael, and his granddaughters, Layla and Malyna, whom he called his Dollies; his siblings, Sonny, Bobby, Jimmy, Linda and Stephen; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday, October 15 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, followed by a private graveside ceremony at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield. The family suggests donations to the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation.
