Constance E. “Connie” (Farnham) Millard, a longtime Melrose resident, died peacefully at Winchester Hospital on Sunday, October 18, 2026. She was 95.

She was born in Belgrade Lakes, Maine on September 28, 1931, one of four children of Irvin and Gladys (Moore) Farnham, and never lost her attachment to Maine. She learned to swim in the lakes, competed in the Junior Olympics and later taught her children and grandchildren. She worked for years as a home health aide, hosted Sunday dinners built around her fried chicken and followed by cribbage or poker, told family stories to anyone who would listen, and came through a long list of health troubles with a strength her family says inspired them.

Her husband, Raymond Millard, died before her, as did her children Catherine Fiore, Norman Palmer, Cynthia Gordon, John Gordon and Nancy Gordon, her sister Beverly Young and her brother Malcolm Farnham. She leaves her daughters, Corinne Palmer and her husband James Rosa of Melrose and Ann Johnson of Melrose; her sister, Marion Kenyon of Waterville, Maine; her grandchildren, Scott Palmer of Miami, Wayne Johnson of Stoughton, Raymond Gordon of Texas and Paul Fiore of Saugus; her great-grandchildren, Feliks and Leah Johnson of Melrose; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are private. Arrangements are by the Robinson Funeral Home, Melrose.
