Anthony Emmanuel Yahya died on September 26, 2026 following an unexpected incident in Lynn. He was 28.

He was born on June 14, 1998 at Beverly Hospital, the son of Jose Carlos Yahya and Cynthia Jeanne (Fowler) Yahya, and spent his early years in Lynn, attending Ford Elementary School, before the family moved to Ipswich for its schools. There he trained three times a week at Fisher Karate Academy, taking home three tournament trophies, and threw himself into Boy Scouts, from winter camping to the Pinewood Derby. He was baptized at St. Mary’s in Lynn, made his First Communion at Our Lady of Hope in Ipswich and was confirmed by Bishop O’Malley at St. Adelaide’s in Peabody. He drew superheroes with a natural hand, kept the family laughing with one-liners, cooked up recipes of his own on weekends and loved the family’s trips to Puerto Rico, Mexico and St. Barth’s, where he swam, rode horses and snorkeled. He graduated from Lynn Technical High School in software programming, spent two years as assistant manager of a Burger King in Lynn and three as a certified auto consultant at CarMax in Danvers.

He leaves his parents; his siblings, Charles, Thomas and Christina; his grandparents, Dr. Ben Morgan Jones, Lucille Ray and Clara Hernandez; his aunt Deborah Jones, his uncle Joe Don, Dr. Victor Lupi and Marta; his cousins Emily, Sofia, Abbey and Maddy; and many friends.

A funeral Mass was celebrated October 9 at St. Mary’s in Lynn. Burial is Wednesday, October 14 at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Arrangements are by the Goodrich Funeral Home, Lynn.
