Daniel Ferrara, known across Revere as Danny, died on Saturday, October 31, 2026. He was 82.

He was born in Boston on January 30, 1944 and lived his whole life in Revere. His working years were spent at American Airlines, where he rose to national regional manager for sales and marketing and was named the company’s salesman of the year more than once. It was at the airline, about 60 years ago, that he met Regina; they were married for 57 years.

His public service began on the City Council, where he represented Ward 4 from 1978 to 1981 and served a term as council president. He went on to serve on the Board of Assessors, the Licensing Commission and the Zoning Board, as the city’s civil defense director and, for a time, as hearing officer for the Parking Department. By the family’s count he was the longest consecutively serving board member in the history of Revere City Hall.

He was at Harry Della Russo Stadium for Revere High football most Friday nights in season, followed Boston College and the Patriots, and kept his lawn and garden to the same standard he kept everything else. He belonged to the American Legion. His house was full of family and dogs, and he treated the latter as members of the former.

He leaves Regina; his son Michael and his wife Sandra of Methuen; his daughter Christine and her partner Robert St. Jean of Revere; his grandchildren Sophia and Joey; and the family dog, Dolly, along with many relatives and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Paul Buonfiglio and Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street. A funeral service follows at the funeral home Thursday, November 5 at 10:30 a.m., then a Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Revere and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. In place of flowers the family suggests the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which builds and pays off homes for the families of fallen first responders and service members, at t2t.org.
